Sunday night I was on my way to Wal-mart (my favorite store) when I heard Joyce Littel on V-103 on her show Love and Relationships. She had three successful couples on the show talking about entrepreneurship, relationships, and how to accomplish both if you want to. The conversation was pretty good. They talked about everything from ‘pipe dream busters’ – people who don’t support their partner’s dreams in the belief that they aren’t being realistic – to unmotivated. The guests also talked about their successes and failures and important things to remember in relationships where there is only one entrepreneur or it is a Copreneur relationship.
Of course I became all excited and called in to talk to them about their experiences and plug Bizzyness (of course). I was super nervous in the beginning. I was hyperventilating as I jotted down things I wanted to say. I just knew this was the moment of truth for Bizzyness. The truth of the matter is, I was slightly disappointed in the way it turned out. By the time I was able to talk to them, about 30 minutes had passed and my comment was no longer relevant, nor did it spark any dialogue. Maybe next time! I did realize that I become slightly anxious when it comes public speaking that I need to master. Considering where I would like Bizzyness to go in the near future, I had better learn to master that fear. Fortunately enough for me, the long wait allowed me time to mellow down and get my point across.
I also learned something new about me and Justin’s dynamic. I saw me speaking on the radio as an opportunity of a life time…well, not so major, but reeeely important – while Justin didn’t see it the same way. His thoughts were that it wasn’t such a big deal unless they were calling US to be on the show. I get that, completely. What I learned is that though we share this company (Bizzyness) we won’t always share the same victories or let downs in this. Now i’m not saying we won’t ever, but it’s ok for me to feel one way and for him to feel to the contrary about our business.
So Joyce, this is for you…the next time you have a show about Copreneurs, WE need to be on the show! This way Justin will believe it to be a big deal and I can improve on speaking to large groups. =)
XOXO,
Akuba

Hi
I think it’s incredibly cool that you and your other half are building a business together. It reminds me of my friends E and J (TheAtHomeCouple). My wife isn’t ready to follow me on any entrepreneurial adventures just yet but she is my biggest cheerleader.

BTW – I really like the look of your blog!

T Edwards,
Thanks for the comment. Having your significant other, be your biggest cheerleader, is incredibly important no matter what endeavor you choose to seek so congrats you have a good one and don’t worry she’ll catch on!
On another note we have spoken to Elijah from TheAtHomeCouple and love what he and Veronica are doing. Personally I’m hoping that we will collaborate on a project or 2 in the future so we’ll see.
Oh and thank you for the comment on the design, I am actually rounding out some final details on a new look, so I hope you like it as well.
Stay in touch and again, thank you for the comment.
